
DERA MURAD JAMALI/KHUZDAR: A wave of violence in Balochistan on Saturday left nine people dead and two others abducted in the districts of Kalat, Nasirabad, Jhal Magsi, Panjgur, Kachhi, and Chagai, authorities said. The attacks, carried out by unidentified gunmen, have raised fresh concerns about the province’s fragile security situation.
In Kalat district’s Khaliqabad area, four people were killed in a targeted attack, including tribal leader Shakir Saadullah Langove and his brother Shakir Khairullah Langove. Two others, Muhammad Karim and Muhammad Zahir, were also gunned down in the Sarbund area. The assailants fled, and investigations are underway.

In Panjgur, two men—Muhammad Zafar and Muhammad Naeem—were shot dead by armed men on a motorbike, while in Dera Murad Jamali, two excavator drivers, Aashiq Ali Mohammad Hasni and Shakeel Ahmed Korai, were abducted near Rabi Canal Sufi Wah. Authorities have launched search operations to recover the victims.
Other killings included Abdul Qadir Kurd in Kachhi district, Muhammad Bachal Magsi in Jhal Magsi following a tribal land dispute, and prominent tribal leader Sardar Hussain in Dalbandin, Chagai district. Police have initiated investigations into each case, though motives remain unclear in several incidents.

The recent spate of killings, tribal clashes, and abductions has heightened fear among residents and underscored the urgent need for reinforced law enforcement measures across Balochistan. Authorities continue to search for the perpetrators and restore security in affected areas.
