“In loving memory of Queen Ingrid, who passed away 25 years ago today,” the palace captioned the post. The tribute also highlighted her royal journey, noting that she was born in Stockholm in 1910 as a Swedish princess and married Crown Prince Frederik (9th) in 1935. She served as Queen of Denmark from 1947 to 1972.
Queen Ingrid, remembered as a modernizing force within Europe’s oldest royal family, is the mother of Queen Margrethe II and grandmother of the current King of Denmark. She was widely respected for her contributions to the royal household and public life.
