CM presents Punjab’s investment potential before Chinese investors

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with a delegation of prominent Chinese investors, in which they expressed their keen interest in making investments in Punjab.

She was pleased to see women investors as part of the Chinese delegation. She said that Punjab possesses immense potential for investment. She added that for the first time, ‘Zero Time to Start Policy’ has been introduced in Punjab, aimed at providing complete facilitation to investors. She highlighted that Punjab is currently going through one of the best phases in terms of investment opportunities.

Chief Minister Punjab underscored that Punjab’s industrial zones and industrial parks offer excellent potential for investment. She revealed that investors will also be provided with tax holidays and import duty relief. She noted that infrastructure, IT sector and medical tourism fields present lucrative opportunities for foreign investment. She added that following her last year’s visit to China, Punjab government has introduced innovation in medical and other sectors. She highlighted that real estate and infrastructure sectors in Punjab can yield swift profitable returns, adding that Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) project will serve as a role model of infrastructure development in the province.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif underscored that for the first time, more than 100,000 houses have been constructed by setting a new record within a short span of ten months. She said that with the growth of tourism sector, a rising demand occurs for the construction of more quality hotels to facilitate tourists across Punjab. She disclosed that for the first time, glass train and high-speed trains are being introduced in Punjab, and noted that a vast area has also been allocated for the establishment of Punjab’s largest medical district. She emphasized that business processes in Punjab have been fully switched over to online system, adding that no files or papers are required to launch any business, and investors can apply easily and start their business instantly. During the meeting, senior officials from various Chinese companies introduced themselves to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and expressed their keen interest in making investments in multiple sectors in Punjab. The Chinese delegation also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Punjab for warmly welcoming them and extending them a gracious hospitality.

Separately, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif departed for Belém, a city of Brazil to attend COP-30 conference. During the conference, she will brief participants on Punjab’s flagship projects including ‘Suthra Punjab’ and E-Mobility programs. She will also address Climate Resilient Regional Leadership Meeting, and will apprise the participants of COP-30 conference about reforms being introduced by her government in Punjab’s wildlife sector.

Chief Minister Punjab during her visit will also hold important meetings with prominent global leaders and important personalities. Her schedule includes meetings with the Vice Presidents of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). She will also meet directors of World Bank Climate Change and Global Green Institute, and will also hold meeting with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Her visit to Brazil holds great significance with regard to environmental and climate-related collaboration.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif said in her special message on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day that November 6, 1947 reminds us of a historic tragedy in which hundreds of thousands of unarmed Kashmiris were brutally massacred by the Indian occupying forces. She noted that this day is observed to remember immortal sacrifices of the brave martyrs of Kashmir. She underscored that the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been sacrificing their precious lives to secure freedom for the last 78 years. She urged upon the United Nations and international community to take notice of Indian atrocities against the innocent Kashmiri people.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reiterated her firm resolve that Pakistan and its people always stood by their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will remain so. She highlighted that Kashmiri freedom struggle depicts a timeless story of resistance, courage and sacrifice against Indian tyranny, oppression and barbarity. She underscored that Indian brutalities can never suppress the spirit of freedom in the hearts of brave Kashmiri people, who continuously strive to keep the flame of liberty alive by shedding their precious blood.
