
RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza met with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah of Brunei Darussalam during his official visit, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Thursday.
During the visit, the CJCSC held separate meetings with Brunei’s Defence Minister Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan. Discussions focused on the evolving global and regional security environment and avenues to enhance bilateral defence cooperation.

General Mirza also visited the KDB Darulaman at Muara Naval Base and the Defence Academy of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, delivering a talk on Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability. He interacted with Command and Staff course students, including officers from 19 foreign countries.
The CJCSC highlighted Pakistan’s strong ties with Brunei and expressed commitment to further strengthen military-to-military relations. Brunei’s leadership lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and their sacrifices in combating terrorism.

A smartly turned-out military contingent at the Royal Brunei Armed Forces headquarters presented a ‘Guard of Honour’ to General Mirza upon his arrival, marking the formal start of the visit.
