SUKKUR: The Accountability Court in Sukkur on Thursday dismissed the illegal assets reference against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Syed Khurshid Shah and several others, transferring the matter to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Accountability Judge Ghulam Yaseen Kolachi announced the verdict in the case filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), which included PPP leaders Syed Khurshid Shah, Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Owais Qadir Shah, MPA Syed Farrukh Shah, and 15 others.

The NAB had initially filed a provisional reference of Rs 1.23 billion in 2019, which was later replaced with a final reference of Rs 190 million after six years. The defense argued that the case should be closed since all assets had been declared to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and during election nominations.
Shah’s lawyer highlighted the extensive delay, noting that it took NAB Sukkur 70 months to present the final reference, and urged the court to dismiss the case. The court ruled in favor of the defense, concluding the matter for the accused.
