
During the 556th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji in New York, the pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) announced that they would defend Pakistan in the event of an Indian attack. The organization emphasized that the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji reflect truth, justice, and the defense of human dignity.
SFJ stated that Sikhs of Khalistan would stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Pakistan to protect its sovereignty and people, reiterating their support in case of any unprovoked aggression from India. The announcement came amid efforts to highlight Guru Nanak’s legacy of resistance and moral courage.

Earlier, Pakistan welcomed over 2,100 Sikh pilgrims from India, marking the first major crossing since the May conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbors led to the closure of the Wagah-Attari border. Pilgrims are set to visit sacred sites including Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak, and Kartarpur, where the guru is buried.
The Kartarpur Corridor, a visa-free route opened in 2019 for Indian Sikhs to visit Pakistani temples, had remained closed since the May clashes. The latest visa grants aim to promote interreligious and intercultural harmony, even as tensions linger following the deadly fighting earlier this year.
