According to sources close to Sahi, he plans to appeal the conviction before the Lahore High Court (LHC) and will also seek a stay order against the by-election scheduled for November 23 on his vacated seat.
Meanwhile, sources said that police also raided the farmhouse of independent candidate Malik Nawab Sher Waseer, who is contesting the NA-96 Jaranwala by-election, but he was not found there. Reports suggest police have been pressuring Waseer to withdraw in favour of PML-N’s Bilal Badar Chaudhry, brother of Federal Minister Talal Chaudhry.
