SRINAGAR – A major cricket fraud has surfaced in occupied Kashmir, where organizers of a fake tournament allegedly deceived international players under the name of the Indian Heaven Premier League (IHPL).
According to media reports, invitations were sent to several foreign cricketers, including Shaun Marsh, Shakib Al Hasan, and Chris Gayle, to participate in the event. While Marsh and Shakib declined to join, Gayle reportedly left the tournament midway after payments were not made.

The tournament, which began with a few matches at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, soon fell apart as organizers disappeared overnight, leaving behind unpaid players, umpires, and hotel owners. The event, initially scheduled from October 25 to November 8, was abruptly postponed due to the financial scandal.
Local police have launched an investigation into the incident after reports of fraud and mismanagement emerged. Meanwhile, both the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) and the JK Sports Council have denied any association with the controversial event, calling it an unauthorized and fraudulent activity. Authorities are now tracing the event’s promoters amid fears that the scam may have been part of a wider sports-related fraud network.
