Women's World Cup: Sidra Nawaz named in ICC Team of the Tournament
DUBAI – The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced the Women’s Cricket World Cup Team of the Tournament, with Pakistan wicketkeeper Sidra Nawaz earning a place among the world’s best for her outstanding glovework.

Sidra impressed throughout the competition, finishing with the most dismissals and four stumpings — two of which came in Pakistan’s clash against Australia. Her lightning-fast dismissal of Kim Garth down the leg-side was hailed as one of the best of the tournament.

Despite Pakistan’s league-stage exit, Sidra’s performance stood out as she proved a vital support to the team’s bowling unit. The ICC praised her for being “a standout even in a tournament noted for its top-class keeping.”

The Team of the Tournament also features three players each from India and South Africa, including Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Player of the Tournament Deepti Sharma for India, while Laura Wolvaardt of South Africa — who scored a record 571 runs — was named captain.

Australia’s Annabel Sutherland, Ash Gardner, and Alana King also made the XI, while England’s Sophie Ecclestone was selected for her key role in their semi-final run. Nat Sciver-Brunt was named as the 12th player.
