ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar will undertake a one-day visit to Istanbul tomorrow (Monday) to attend the Coordination Meeting of Arab-Islamic Foreign Ministers, the Foreign Office announced on Sunday.
The meeting, hosted by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, will focus on implementing the Gaza Peace Agreement and regional efforts to strengthen the ongoing ceasefire. The agreement, signed in Sharm El-Sheikh, marked a significant breakthrough under the United States’ mediation, bringing Hamas and Israel to the table for the first time since 2023.

According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan will emphasize the need for Israel’s complete withdrawal from the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly Gaza, and call for unrestricted humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of the war-torn enclave. The statement reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the creation of an independent and contiguous Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, based on pre-1967 borders and UN resolutions.
The Gaza Peace Agreement, signed on October 9, facilitated a ceasefire and the exchange of captives between Hamas and Israel after over two years of devastating conflict. A follow-up declaration was signed by mediators Egypt, Qatar, Turkiye, and the US on October 13, with Pakistan and other Muslim nations participating to secure a lasting peace in the region.
