HYDERABAD – The death toll from dengue fever has climbed to 26 after three more deaths were reported in Hyderabad, while 19 new cases surfaced in Rawalpindi over the past twenty-four hours.
According to health officials, 30-year-old Mohammad Arshad Madni, a resident of Karachi, succumbed to the virus at a private hospital in Latifabad, Hyderabad. He had been transferred from Karachi after his condition deteriorated. Authorities confirmed that 793 new dengue cases were reported across Sindh, with 233 patients currently under treatment at various government and private hospitals.
In Rawalpindi, the District Health Authority (DHA) recorded 19 new cases within a day, bringing the total number of infected individuals in the district to 1,561. Currently, 28 patients are receiving treatment at local hospitals, though no fatalities have been reported so far.

DHA officials said that 20,798 people were tested for dengue this year, while 6,196,497 homes were inspected as part of ongoing anti-dengue surveillance. Out of these, 209,936 locations tested positive for dengue larvae.
During the campaign, 228,794 hotspots were dismantled, 1,909 sites were sealed, and 3,664 were fined for violating dengue prevention SOPs. The DHA has collected over Rs10.13 million in fines so far.
