
PESHAWAR: Four robbers were killed in a police encounter on Friday in the Mirakachori Mehr Gul Kallay area of Peshawar, following a gun battle with law enforcement personnel.
According to police officials, the encounter erupted after authorities received intelligence regarding the presence of armed suspects in the area. Upon reaching the location, the suspects opened fire on the police, who retaliated, resulting in the deaths of all four robbers.

Police revealed that the slain gang members had been involved in criminal activities since 2003, frequently disguising themselves as police officers to conduct robberies. The gang had recently looted millions of rupees and gold ornaments from a doctor’s residence.
SSP Operations Peshawar Masood Ahmed Bangash confirmed that the identities of the deceased have been established, adding that three of the robbers were Afghan nationals. He said the group was wanted in multiple districts, including Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Nowshera, for their involvement in several major robberies.

Police recovered Kalashnikov rifles, a shotgun, two pistols, and motorcycles from the crime scene. Bangash stated that the successful operation had eliminated a longstanding criminal network operating in the region.
