PESHAWAR — Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said Pakistan seeks peace with all neighbors, including Afghanistan. However, he emphasized that cross-border terrorism from Afghan soil will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
During his visit to Peshawar, Munir held an interactive session with a jirga of tribal elders. Later, he received a detailed briefing at Headquarters 11 Corps on the prevailing security environment, operational readiness, and ongoing counter-terrorism measures along the Pak-Afghan border.

Pakistan-Afghanistan relations have worsened due to recent border clashes and mutual accusations. Islamabad repeatedly warned Kabul against allowing Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants to operate from Afghan territory. Talks in Turkiye to develop a monitoring mechanism have stalled amid disagreements.
The COAS highlighted Pakistan’s patience despite repeated attacks. He accused the Afghan Taliban of providing support to Indian-backed terror groups, Fitna Al Khwarij and Fitna Al Hindustan, instead of taking decisive action against them.

Munir assured the tribal elders that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be cleared of terrorists and their supporters. He praised the resilience and sacrifices of local people, while the elders expressed full support for the army and reaffirmed their commitment to peace in the region.
