Sindh govt waives first E-Traffic fine, warns repeat offenders

Published on: October 30, 2025 5:21 PM

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced that first-time e-ticket fines will be forgiven. However, repeat violators must pay full fines. He urged citizens to follow traffic rules to protect themselves and others.

The announcement followed a meeting with Sindh IG Ghulam Nabi Memon. The IG presented a report on 35 government vehicles fined under the new e-ticketing system. Violations included seatbelt neglect, jumping red lights, using mobile phones, and tinted glass.

CM Shah said first-time fines will be waived, but anyone repeating violations will face the full e-ticket penalty. He emphasized that law enforcement is for everyone, including police. The IG added that violators can contact authorities within ten days for first-time fine forgiveness.

A recent case highlighted the system’s enforcement. On October 28, police vehicle SPE-950 on Lyari Expressway received an e-ticket for seatbelt violation. CM Shah said the system is working effectively to ensure accountability and road safety.
