RAWALPINDI — Pakistani security forces killed four militants, including a senior Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander identified as Amjad alias Mazahim, during an intelligence-led engagement in Bajaur District on the night of October 29–30, 2025, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday. The group was reportedly attempting to infiltrate from Afghan territory when troops intercepted their movement.
The ISPR statement said troops “effectively engaged and thwarted” the infiltration attempt, killing the four militants in a precision operation. Amjad — described as a high-value target and deputy to TTP leader Noor Wali — headed the group’s Rehbari Shura and had a bounty of Rs 5 million on his head for involvement in numerous attacks inside Pakistan.

Military officials warned that the leadership of the militant network, while based in Afghanistan, is orchestrating infiltration attempts to project a domestic presence and to boost militant morale in Bajaur and Mohmand. A sanitisation operation was reported underway to clear any remaining militants in the area.
The ISPR reiterated calls for the interim Afghan authorities to prevent their soil being used as a safe haven for militants, saying the operation validated Pakistan’s longstanding concerns about cross-border militant sanctuaries. The armed forces vowed to continue counter-terrorism operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign until such threats are eliminated.
