TikTok raises payouts, rewards top creators with 90% revenue share

Published on: October 29, 2025 9:30 PM

TikTok has announced a major update that will allow users to earn more from subscriptions. The platform is changing its revenue-sharing model. Previously, creators received 70% of subscription income. Now, eligible users can earn up to 90%. This change applies first in the United States and Canada and will expand globally in coming months.

To qualify, creators must meet certain conditions. Users need at least 10,000 followers. Their videos must have at least 100,000 views in the past month. They must also post at least three subscriber-only videos in the previous month. TikTok emphasized that consistent posting will help users maximize earnings.

The company said subscriptions help creators build stronger communities. Subscribers gain exclusive perks, such as special badges, subscriber-only posts, and chat features. These benefits provide fans closer access to their favorite creators. TikTok highlighted that the new system will reward dedication and regular engagement.

Globally, the subscription revenue model will also see an increase. Outside North America, creators currently earn 50% of subscription income. TikTok plans to raise this to 70%. The company aims to make subscription programs more rewarding for creators worldwide.

Experts say this change could encourage more content creation and stronger user engagement. Fans can enjoy more exclusive content while supporting their favorite creators directly. The update also strengthens TikTok’s position against other social media platforms. Overall, the new model creates more opportunities for both creators and audiences.
