A high-level meeting of Deputy Commissioners from all districts across Sindh was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Minister for Planning and Development, Jam Khan Shoro, to review the progress of development schemes in detail. Chairman of the Planning and Development Board, Najam Ahmed Shah, along with all district Deputy Commissioners, participated via online briefings. The Minister directed that no new dispensaries or schools should be established in any district without consultation with the Health and Education Departments. He emphasized that projects related to the construction of dispensaries must not proceed until formal NOCs are obtained from the Finance and Health Departments.
Jam Khan Shoro announced a decision to immediately halt the construction of new community centers across the province. He stressed that public funds must only be used on government-owned land, making it clear that spending public resources on land without official ownership is unacceptable. The Minister stated that no funds for new schemes will be released until ongoing projects are completed. He added that work will continue only on those schemes whose portfolios have been submitted in accordance with policy guidelines. Districts that have not yet submitted their details as per the given policy must do so immediately.
The Provincial Minister demanded complete data on all unsatisfactory schemes, stating that such projects will be re-evaluated. He further instructed that funds for projects facing legal issues regarding land ownership be immediately suspended. According to Jam Khan Shoro, separate development review meetings will soon be convened for the districts of Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, and Sanghar to enhance transparency and accelerate progress on ongoing projects in those areas.
