Royal fans lash out over Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson

Published on: October 27, 2025 3:19 PM

LONDON — Royal fans have reacted strongly to reports that Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are seeking new royal residences after allegedly being asked to vacate Royal Lodge, where the pair have lived together since 2008 despite their divorce.

According to The Sun, Prince Andrew is reportedly eyeing Frogmore Cottage, the former home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, while Sarah Ferguson has expressed interest in Adelaide Cottage, the Windsor residence currently occupied by Prince William and Princess Kate, who are set to move out next month. The Daily Express UK also confirmed similar reports.

The news has sparked outrage among royal watchers, with many criticising what they see as excessive privilege. One social media user commented, “I want to know, just how many residences this family has. It is ridiculous. They don’t need this amount of houses. While Britain struggles, they seem to have a place for every occasion. Pure greed.”

Another wrote, “Fergie is not a royal and not even married to one now. The Crown Estates should not house her anywhere on royal land. She recently sold a £4 million apartment in Belgravia — she should buy something privately, preferably abroad.”

A third commenter added bluntly, “Fergie wants — she has no right to demand anything.”

The couple have been under increasing pressure to leave Royal Lodge following public scrutiny over Prince Andrew’s controversies and the relinquishment of his royal duties.
