
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for Riyadh on Monday to attend the ninth Future Investment Initiative (FII9). He is visiting at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The summit brings global leaders, investors, and policymakers together to discuss innovation, sustainability, and economic growth.
Shehbaz is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and special assistants Tariq Fatemi and Bilal bin Saqib. During his visit, he will meet Saudi leadership to boost cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and human resource development. Talks will also cover regional and global issues of mutual concern.

According to the Foreign Office, FII9 focuses on the theme “The Key to Prosperity: Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth.” Discussions will tackle global challenges and explore opportunities in innovation, sustainability, and economic inclusion. The event provides a platform for high-level dialogue among decision-makers worldwide.
The Prime Minister’s Office stated Shehbaz Sharif will present Pakistan’s perspective on sustainable growth and global economic shifts. He will highlight the country’s investment potential and commitment to inclusive development. Pakistan aims to attract international partnerships and strengthen economic collaboration through the forum.

Last month, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a landmark Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement during Shehbaz’s previous visit to Riyadh. The pact ensures aggression against either nation is treated as an attack on both, reinforcing bilateral defence and deterrence. The Prime Minister’s latest trip underscores Islamabad’s growing strategic and economic ties with the Kingdom.
