KARACHI – The Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) have intensified their campaign against smuggling and narcotics trafficking, conducting a series of successful intelligence-based operations across Balochistan and Sindh over the past week, officials confirmed on Saturday.

According to a PCG spokesperson, the first operation was carried out in the Pileri area of Gwadar, where 201 kilograms of high-quality hashish were recovered from a single-cabin vehicle.

In another operation in the Parag area of Pasni, 42 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (Ice) were seized. Meanwhile, during a routine check at Badok Road Check Post, PCG officials discovered 1,183.71 grams of gold hidden in a suspicious vehicle.

Similarly, at the Hub Bypass Road Check Post, PCG personnel found 250 kilograms of hashish concealed in secret compartments of a passenger bus. Preliminary investigations suggest that the seized drugs were intended for smuggling within or outside Pakistan.

The confiscated narcotics and gold have been taken into custody, and legal proceedings are underway. The recovered drugs are estimated to be worth USD 35.95 million, while the gold is valued at approximately USD 0.15 million in the international market.

Reaffirming their stance, the Pakistan Coast Guards stated that they remain committed to curbing smuggling and drug trafficking to protect the national economy and secure Pakistan’s borders.
