Pakistan has taken strong measures to curb Khwarij threat: ISPR DG

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has said that Pakistan has taken effective measures against the presence of Khwarij terrorists in Afghanistan.

Speaking at an interactive session with students at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, the DG ISPR said the Pakistan Army will remain steadfast against the aggression of every enemy in the future as well.

He said the youth are the guarantors of the nation’s bright future and have a vital role in the country’s progress and prosperity.

During the visit, both students and faculty members paid rich tribute to the martyrs and veterans of the Pakistan Armed Forces for their sacrifices. They said the nation values the Pakistan Army’s role in maintaining peace and contributing to national development.

The students emphasized that such meaningful sessions should continue in the future to effectively counter disinformation and propaganda.

The recent Pak-Afghan border clash, the overall security situation, and the role of social media were also discussed during the session.

Air chief meets Romanian top defence leadership

Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, during his official visit to Romania met with Mr. Eduard Bachide, State Secretary of Defence, and General Gheorghia Vlad, Romanian Chief of Defence and emphasized deeper military to military cooperation between the two countries.

During this engagement between the highest level military leadership of the two nations, Chief of the Air Staff said that Pakistan values its strong diplomatic and defence ties with Romania which are based on convergence on all important issues related to regional peace and security.

While reiterating strong bilateral military partnership in the face of shared challenges, the Air Chief reaffirmed PAF’s strong commitment to further deepening this partnership by exploring new avenues of collaboration and operational synergy for mutual professional advancement, said a news release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The Romanian State Secretary of Defence commended Pakistan Air Force for its remarkable combat record and operational excellence, expressing Romania’s keen interest in benefiting from PAF’s extensive operational experience.

During the meeting the Romanian Chief of Defence lauded the professionalism and capabilities of PAF and conveyed a strong desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation through enhanced interoperability, joint exercises, training exchanges and professional development programs aimed at fostering long-term strategic collaboration between the two Armed Forces.

The visit of Chief of the Air Staff to Romania marks a significant step towards fortifying defence relations between the two countries and underscores the mutual resolve of both nations to work together in addressing emerging security challenges through sustained engagement and partnership.
