Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan and Poland share a historic and unique relationship. He highlighted that Poland played a major role in the formation of the Pakistan Air Force. Speaking at a joint press conference in Islamabad, Ishaq Dar welcomed Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and emphasized Pakistan’s deep respect for its ties with Poland.

Dar stated that Pakistan considers Poland an important partner in trade, defense, and development. He noted that both nations have many opportunities to enhance cooperation in multiple sectors. During the talks, both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral relations further. The discussion also included regional security issues, especially terrorism originating from Afghan territory. Dar added that Pakistan and Poland will expand collaboration to counter terrorism effectively.
He further mentioned that the Polish Deputy Prime Minister expressed concern over Indian aggression and reaffirmed Poland’s support for Pakistan’s principled stance on Kashmir. This statement reflected mutual understanding on key international issues and Pakistan’s appreciation of Poland’s diplomatic approach. Dar said the meeting helped both countries reaffirm their shared vision for peace and cooperation.
A signing ceremony for memorandums of understanding (MoUs) also took place during the visit. The agreements were signed between the Institute of Strategic Studies, Islamabad, and the Polish Institute of International Affairs. Both deputy prime ministers witnessed the ceremony, marking another step toward institutional collaboration and knowledge exchange between the two countries.

Earlier, Polish Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski arrived in Islamabad for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Ishaq Dar. According to the Foreign Office, the visit is seen as a key milestone in Pakistan-Poland relations. The ministry said this visit reaffirms Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Warsaw for mutual benefit. In July, both countries had already agreed to expand high-level visits and parliamentary exchanges, with the next round of political consultations scheduled for 2026 in Islamabad.
