Pakistani actor and content creator Khaqan Shahnawaz has voiced his disapproval of Atif Aslam’s recent venture into social media content creation, saying the superstar has been copying smaller creators without giving them due credit.
During his appearance on the popular podcast Pakiavellian, Khaqan discussed the clash between actors and digital creators, sharing candid opinions about the entertainment industry, politics and originality in content.
While clarifying that he has no personal issue with Atif Aslam joining the world of online videos, Khaqan said he felt disappointed by how the celebrated singer handled his content strategy.
He remarked that Atif’s Instagram videos closely resembled the work of smaller creators, yet no credit was given to the original ideas or sources. “As a creator myself, I think it’s unfair not to credit the original work,” Khaqan said. “If he had made original content, I would have praised him for his creativity.”
