Published on: October 22, 2025 4:07 PM

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a phone call to discuss the escalating situation in Gaza and the wider region. The Foreign Office confirmed that the conversation took place late Tuesday night. Both leaders reviewed recent developments in Gaza and Palestine and emphasized the importance of continuing close cooperation on shared regional concerns.

During the call, they reaffirmed their strong commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East. They discussed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the urgent need for a lasting political solution. Earlier this month, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia both welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. Both nations expressed hope that the ceasefire will bring an end to the two-year-long conflict and pave the way for sustainable peace.

Saudi Arabia has been a significant provider of financial aid and oil to Pakistan. Their partnership also includes military cooperation and collaboration on broader international and regional issues. The two countries have frequently aligned their diplomatic efforts on key Muslim world matters.

In September 2025, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement in Riyadh. This pact ensures that any armed attack against one country will be considered an attack on both.
