Qatar condemns ‘continued violation’ of Gaza truce

Published on: October 21, 2025 3:46 PM

Qatar’s ruler, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, strongly condemned Israel on Tuesday for breaking the Gaza ceasefire. The ceasefire has been in place for 11 days, but recent strikes targeted Hamas positions in Gaza. These attacks, according to the Emir, go against the truce and cause more suffering. He spoke during an annual address to Qatar’s Shura Council, emphasizing the need to respect the ceasefire. The Emir’s statement reflects Qatar’s role as a key mediator in the ongoing conflict.

The Emir called out Israel’s actions as violations that harm Palestinian civilians. He described Gaza as becoming an area unfit for human life. This harsh description highlights the severe conditions faced by people living in Gaza. Moreover, he stressed that the ceasefire’s continued breaches risk escalating the situation again. Qatar urges all parties to honor the truce and work toward lasting peace.

In addition to condemning the violations, the Emir reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting Palestine. He emphasized the importance of protecting human rights and ensuring safety in the region. Qatar has played a vital role in mediating peace talks between Israel and Hamas. The Emir’s remarks signal Qatar’s ongoing involvement and its call for international attention to the crisis.

Furthermore, the Emir’s address comes amid fragile calm in Gaza after weeks of conflict. Despite the ceasefire, tensions remain high, and trust between parties is low. The recent strikes threatened to undo progress made in peace efforts. Therefore, Qatar’s firm condemnation aims to prevent further violence and encourage dialogue. The world watches closely as regional leaders seek a path to stability.

The Emir’s call reminds everyone of the urgent need for peace and security in the region.
