
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended warm greetings to the Hindu community in Pakistan and around the world on the occasion of the Diwali festival.
In his message, President Zardari said the festival of Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil, reminding everyone of the values of hope, positivity, and unity. He emphasized that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights and complete freedom of religion to all citizens.

The president further noted that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah envisioned a Pakistan where minorities enjoy equal rights and opportunities without discrimination.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensuring equality, inclusivity, and progress for all communities, regardless of their faith.
He said that the government remains dedicated to creating an environment of tolerance and respect among all religions and cultures in the country.
Across Pakistan and worldwide, the Hindu community is celebrating Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, with festive gatherings, fireworks, feasts, and prayers marking the joyous occasion.
