Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan met African Union Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf on October 17, 2025. The meeting took place during the “Made in Pakistan” exhibition in Addis Ababa. During discussions, they focused on food security, agriculture, agri-tech, information technology, and human resource development. They agreed to create a roadmap to guide future partnerships. This roadmap will prioritize key sectors and outline clear steps for bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The goal is to boost economic ties and promote sustainable growth between Pakistan and African Union member states.

Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf praised Pakistan’s active role in international forums like the United Nations. He showed interest in signing MoUs with Pakistan in areas such as agri-tech, human resource development, and peacekeeping. The meeting ended with a shared commitment to maintain dialogue and strengthen partnerships. Both parties emphasized the importance of inclusive development and mutual benefit. The Look Africa Policy remains a central framework for Pakistan’s engagement with the continent.
