
ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar met with Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Pyankov to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in media, culture, and tourism.
During the meeting, both sides explored opportunities to enhance media collaboration between the two countries. They discussed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims to boost news exchange and cooperation between national media organizations. An agreement to expand partnership between the state media outlets of Pakistan and Russia was also finalized.

Tourism promotion was another key focus of the meeting. Ambassador Pyankov highlighted the appeal of Pakistan’s northern areas for Russian tourists, noting that increased tourism could help deepen people-to-people connections and strengthen bilateral relations.
Both sides also discussed initiatives for cultural exchange, including hosting digital influencers and youth delegations under public-level exchange programs.
Ambassador Pyankov emphasized the importance of building practical partnerships between the two nations, while Minister Tarar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to developing stronger ties in media, culture, and tourism. Both leaders agreed to continue working closely to expand cooperation and unlock the full potential of Pakistan-Russia relations.
