
ANTALYA— Turkish national free diver Şahika Ercümen has set a new world record after diving 107 meters deep in the Mediterranean off the coast of Antalya.
The dive, carried out under international supervision, marks another milestone in Ercümen’s decorated career. What made the feat especially poignant was her decision to dedicate the record to the people of Gaza, highlighting solidarity amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
“I dedicate this achievement to Gaza, to peace, and to all those who continue to struggle under difficult conditions,” Ercümen said after surfacing from the record-breaking dive.
