250 Hindu families given financial aid on Diwali’s eve

On the occasion of Diwali, the Sindh Government’s Department of Minority Affairs distributed financial assistance cheques among 250 Hindu families. A grand ceremony was organized in Karachi under the auspices of the Department of Minority Affairs, Government of Sindh, to celebrate the joyous occasion of Diwali, during which 250 Hindu families received financial aid cheques. The event was attended by the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Minority Affairs, Dr. Sham Sundar Advani, Secretary Minority Affairs Anjum Iqbal, and other officials.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Sham Sundar Advani said that in line with the vision and manifesto of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Sindh Government equally shares in the happiness of people of all religions, communities, and social classes. He said that on this joyous occasion of Diwali, the Sindh Government is extending financial assistance as a token of solidarity with the minority community, enabling poor and deserving families to participate in the celebrations.

Dr Advani further stated that the land of Sindh promotes tolerance, peace, love, and brotherhood, and that the government’s objective is to make the lives of minority communities easier and to empower them economically. Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Minority Affairs Anjum Iqbal said that the Sindh Government has launched several welfare initiatives for minority communities, including educational scholarships, marriage grants, and financial assistance on religious occasions. The event reflected an atmosphere of joy, love, and harmony. Members of the Hindu community expressed happiness and satisfaction over the Sindh Government’s initiative, saying that such measures further strengthen interfaith harmony in the province.
