The new deadline has been set for October 21, giving candidates an additional week to complete and submit their applications. The extension aims to provide equal opportunities for students who faced delays in preparing their documents or meeting application requirements.
Under this program, a total of 56 Pakistani students will receive fully funded scholarships for higher studies in the United Kingdom. The Commonwealth Scholarship Programme is a longstanding initiative supported by the British government to promote education, development, and cultural exchange among developing nations. Each year, it provides full funding, covering tuition fees, living expenses, and travel costs for deserving students. The program not only builds academic excellence but also fosters mutual understanding between the UK and participating countries.
HEC, which manages the scholarship applications in Pakistan, urged eligible candidates to take advantage of the extended deadline. The commission highlighted that this extension would help ensure fair access for students from different academic and regional backgrounds. It also emphasized the importance of applying early to avoid last-minute technical or documentation issues.
The Commonwealth Scholarships continue to be one of the most sought-after academic opportunities for Pakistani students, opening doors to advanced research, innovation, and global collaboration. With the deadline now extended, aspiring scholars have a renewed chance to apply and secure a place among the next generation of leaders shaping Pakistan’s academic and professional landscape.
