
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed serious concern over recent provocations by Afghan Taliban, Fitnah al-Hindustan, and Fitnah al-Khawarij along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. He praised Pakistan’s security forces for successfully repelling attacks, particularly in Kurram sector. The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan’s territorial integrity will be fully defended against any aggression. He condemned the use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities targeting Pakistan.
The Prime Minister has called an important federal cabinet meeting tomorrow to discuss the security situation and recent militant provocations. The cabinet will also review the country’s political and economic status and hear updates from the Prime Minister’s recent Egypt visit. Decisions from the legislative committee and Pakistan’s role in the Gaza peace summit will also be discussed.

Earlier, the Pakistan Army’s ISPR reported that on October 15, Afghan Taliban launched coordinated attacks on four locations in Balochistan’s Spin Boldak area. Pakistani forces responded strongly, killing 15 to 20 militants and injuring several others. ISPR also said these attacks were part of a wider militant offensive including failed attempts on border posts in Kurram sector during the same nights.
The army’s counterattacks caused heavy damage to enemy positions, destroying eight Taliban posts and six tanks. Reports confirm that about 25 to 30 militants were killed during these operations. Overall, around 50 militants were neutralized in clashes over October 14 and 15, showcasing the army’s effective defense against repeated militant aggression.

Tensions escalated after Kabul accused Islamabad of airstrikes on Afghan territory, which Islamabad denied. Afghan Taliban forces reportedly engaged in heavy fighting on the eastern front as a reaction. Both sides have warned of strong responses to any further violations of their borders. The situation remains tense as security forces on both sides stay alert for possible renewed clashes.
