South Africa’s Senuran Muthusamy unleashed a devastating spell on the second morning of the Lahore Test, bowling Pakistan out for 378 after a strong overnight position at 362-5. The left-arm spinner claimed six wickets, including three in a single over, to turn the tide in South Africa’s favour.

Pakistan had resumed their innings with Mohammad Rizwan and Agha Salman at the crease, both well set after half-centuries on Day 1. The pair extended their partnership to 163 before Muthusamy struck — removing Rizwan for 75, then dismissing Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan for ducks in the same over. Agha Salman, who top-scored with 93, fell shortly after to Prenelan Subrayen as Pakistan’s innings collapsed dramatically.

Muthusamy finished with figures of 6 for 80, while Subrayen took two wickets. Kagiso Rabada and Simon Harmer claimed one apiece.

Pakistan’s innings had earlier been anchored by solid contributions from Shan Masood (76) and Imam-ul-Haq (93), who added 161 for the second wicket after an early setback. Babar Azam, who reached the milestone of 3,000 runs in ICC World Test Championship history, managed 23 before being dismissed by Harmer.

At lunch on Day 2, South Africa were 14 without loss in reply, with openers safely negotiating the few overs before the interval. The match remains evenly poised at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, with both sides eyeing early control in the series opener.
