Federal minister alleges PTI’s military wing links with TTP terrorists

Published on: October 11, 2025 1:55 PM

Federal Minister for Information, Atta Tarar, accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of supporting terrorism. He said PTI’s leader still backs terrorists from jail. Tarar claimed that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has become the military wing of PTI. He made these statements during a media briefing in Islamabad. According to him, some groups want to create unrest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and disrupt peace efforts.

Tarar explained that Pakistan united to fight terrorism in the country. Operations like Radd-ul-Fasaad and Zarb-e-Azb helped reduce violence. However, he claimed some political parties shelter terrorists for their benefit. He criticized PTI for allegedly bringing terrorists into the region as part of a plan. The minister also blamed PTI’s jailed leader for trying to politicize violence and deaths.

The Information Minister highlighted corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s government. He said timber and drug mafias operate freely under the current KP cabinet. Tarar asked why the KP government did not act against illegal vehicles and mafias. He insisted that PTI’s poor internal management allowed terrorist groups to gain strength. Additionally, he accused PTI’s founder of backing TTP talks in international media.

Furthermore, Tarar said Pakistan has decided to defeat terrorism completely. He promised that terrorists will not find shelter inside the country. The minister stressed that the government will not tolerate any more violence. He added that peace will return only after the last terrorist is eliminated. According to him, the government is fully committed to protecting national security.

This conflict highlights the challenges Pakistan faces in its fight against terrorism.
