The Local Government Pensioners Association has issued a deadline of October 10 for the Capital Metropolitan Government to clear all outstanding pension payments. Failure to do so will result in the pensioners establishing a protest camp at the Metropolitan Office in Bacha Khan Chowk starting Monday, October 13.
The association leadership declared the camp will remain until all dues are paid. The decision was announced by the association’s leadership, including Chairman Riaz Khan, President Mukhtiar Khan, and General Secretary Muhammad Fazil Khan. They expressed severe dissatisfaction with the persistent non-payment, despite a recent Rs. 300 million grant from the provincial government.
The leaders stated that the metropolitan government provided a written commitment to use these funds specifically for salaries, pensions, and other expenses but has failed to honor this agreement.
