Mayor inaugurates Pakistan’s largest trampoline park

Published on: October 5, 2025 10:57 PM

Karachi mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that the MQM still believes it controls Karachi, which is perhaps why the city continues to bear the effects of their era’s mismanagement. He added that farmers in Punjab are currently facing difficulties, and instead of indulging in criticism, the provincial government there should focus on resolving public issues. “God’s curse is upon liars. No one has given us 300 billion rupees – whoever makes such allegations should provide evidence,” he remarked.

He said that opponents are quick to criticize but fail to take any practical steps themselves. “They even take our projects to court, but we remain steadfast in our mission to serve the people.” He said Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, during the floods, not only represented Sindh but advocated for the entire country on the global stage. “He personally accompanied the UN Secretary-General to Larkana and other cities to highlight the plight of Pakistan’s flood victims at the international level. Our government has built 2.1 million houses for flood-affected people – a historic example of public service,” the Mayor added.

He expressed these views while speaking to media representatives after inaugurating Pakistan’s largest and most modern trampoline park at Safari Park. Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad, Deputy Parliamentary Leader in City Council Dil Muhammad, Jaman Darwan, and others were also present on the occasion.

Barrister Murtaza Wahab said, “Despite the pressure from hypocrites, we have delivered results in Karachi. I congratulate the people of New Karachi, where development projects have now commenced. The Pakistan Peoples Party, driven by the spirit of service, will continue working for the city’s development and prosperity.”

He said that the administration is sincerely focusing on improving recreational spaces in the city so that citizens – especially children and youth – can enjoy healthy entertainment opportunities. “In continuation of these efforts, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation is promoting sports activities across the city.”

The Mayor noted that Safari Park had become deserted in the past, with no available facilities. “However, the positive outcomes of KMC’s hard work over the past two years are now visible. Today, hundreds of families visit Safari Park on weekends, which reflects the citizens’ trust in KMC’s dedication and planning.”

He further said that initiatives are being taken to promote sports and recreational activities in various parts of Karachi. “There are two other trampoline parks in the city, but the facilities at Safari Park are of the highest standard and are available to the public at affordable rates.”

He added, “We want parks to be family-friendly spaces – free from drug users or wedding events – so that they remain pure recreational centers for families and children.”

Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab said the Pakistan Peoples Party’s leadership believes in action rather than words, which is why development projects across Karachi are being completed rapidly. “Providing facilities to the children of Karachi is among our top priorities, and these efforts are part of the PPP’s manifesto. The party will continue serving this city with the same dedication,” he affirmed.

He also mentioned the ongoing Sufi music and qawwali event at Frere Hall, saying, “The city’s vibrancy is returning – citizens are participating enthusiastically in cultural events. Internationally renowned qawwals are performing at Frere Hall to provide the people of Karachi with positive and meaningful entertainment.”
