Earlier in the day, a video of the national player went viral on social media, showing Abrar surrounded by friends and family as they celebrated to the beat of drums outside a local marriage hall. The wedding festivities began on Friday night with a vibrant mehndi ceremony, where glimpses of the cricketer — dressed in a green shalwar kameez — circulated widely on social platforms. Fans flooded the comments sections with congratulatory messages and well wishes for the spinner.

Abrar’s Rising Cricket Journey
For the uninitiated, Abrar Ahmed made his international debut for Pakistan in 2022 and has since represented the national side in 10 Tests, 11 ODIs, and 23 T20Is, taking 93 wickets across formats, including two five-wicket hauls in Test cricket. He was a key part of the Pakistan squad that reached the final of the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025, where the team narrowly lost to arch-rivals India by five wickets.

Abrar has also been named in Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming two-match home Test series against South Africa, set to begin in Lahore on October 12. Currently, the national players are attending a training camp in Lahore to fine-tune preparations for the series. Abrar is expected to rejoin the squad after his Valima reception.
