Pakistan army warns India of ‘devastating consequences’

Published on: October 5, 2025 12:12 PM

The Pakistan Army has issued a stern warning to India, cautioning that any renewed hostilities between the two nuclear-armed neighbors would result in “swift, decisive and destructive” consequences. In a strongly worded statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) expressed grave concern over what it described as provocative and fabricated claims being pushed by India to justify aggression, adding that such rhetoric risked cataclysmic devastation across South Asia.

ISPR said India’s recent remarks from senior defence and military officials amounted to irresponsible and dangerous attempts to manufacture pretexts for conflict. It emphasized that decades of portraying Pakistan as the aggressor have failed, as the world now recognizes India as a key source of regional instability and cross-border terrorism. The statement further noted that provocative declarations from New Delhi risk triggering a wider conflict with serious consequences for peace and security in the region.

Highlighting past confrontations, ISPR recalled how earlier this year Indian actions pushed both countries to the brink of war. It pointed out that India suffered damaged aircraft during those escalations, while Pakistan demonstrated its long-range strike capability. According to ISPR, the episode served as a clear warning of what reckless escalation could bring, yet India appears unwilling to learn from those events and continues issuing bellicose statements.

The military’s communication also revealed that Pakistan had shot down 78 Indian drones within three days, underscoring its vigilance and defensive readiness. ISPR made clear that Pakistan had established a “new normal of response,” which would involve taking the fight deep into enemy territory without hesitation. It stressed that no part of India should assume immunity in case of conflict, as Pakistan retains both the capability and resolve to strike effectively.

Addressing recent threats from Indian officials about erasing Pakistan from the map, ISPR warned that such rhetoric could invite reciprocal destruction. It asserted that any attempt at annihilation would lead to mutual erasure, making clear that Pakistan’s deterrence posture rests on equal and devastating retaliation. The statement concluded by urging India’s leadership to exercise restraint and recognize that miscalculation would not remain confined to tactical exchanges but could unleash destabilization across the entire region.
