In a significant step towards empowering women entrepreneurs and deepening Pakistan-China ties, the Chinese Consulate General in Karachi, in collaboration with the Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry Korangi (WCCIK), has facilitated the participation of a high-level Pakistani delegation in the Eurasian Women Entrepreneurship Empowerment Project Workshop held at Beijing from September 17 to 30, 2025. The program, hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and organized with Beijing Foreign Studies University, brought together women entrepreneurs from Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries to promote cross-border collaboration, strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and build leadership capacity.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Sahibzadi Mahin Khan, Founder President and Patron-in-Chief of WCCIK, and included Shabista Bakhtiar (President, WCCIK), Hibba Tuz Zehra Rizvi (Vice President, WCCIK), Beenish Iftikhar Qadri (Founder President, WCCI Hyderabad), and Dr. Sana Imran (Member, WCCIK). Their presence underscored the growing role of Pakistan’s women-led enterprises in international business and trade. Over two weeks, the participants attended specialized courses on business model innovation, SME governance, and women’s leadership, while exploring opportunities in China’s unified market. The delegation also visited Chinese enterprises, exchanged ideas with business leaders, and explored avenues for future partnerships.
WCCIK leaders expressed their gratitude to Yang Yundong, Consul General of China in Karachi, for his continued support in advancing women entrepreneurship. They also acknowledged the contributions of MOFCOM, the Academy for International Business Officials, the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange, and the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China. Special thanks were extended to Associate Professor Gui Bo of BFSU for his guidance during the program. “This initiative is a milestone in positioning Pakistani women entrepreneurs on the global stage, while reinforcing the friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and China,” WCCIK said in a statement.
