
KARACHI – Pakistan’s wheelchair cricket team achieved a major victory by winning the T20 series against Afghanistan 3-1. They sealed the series with a 9-wicket win in the fourth and final match. The game was played at UBL Sports Complex, Karachi. The win came thanks to brilliant half-centuries from Gohar Afridi and Usama Tariq.
Afghanistan batted first after winning the toss. They scored 155 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Jaber Safi led with 38 runs, while Zar Alam scored 23 and Rahimullah added 14. Pakistan’s Muhammad Fayyaz bowled well and took 2 wickets. Ayub and Ahmad Yar also took one wicket each.
Chasing the target, Pakistan started strong and finished the match in just 14.4 overs. They scored 156 runs, losing only one wicket. Gohar Afridi smashed 64 runs from 41 balls, hitting 14 boundaries. Usama Tariq remained unbeaten with 60 runs, while Fayyaz added 24. Mir Akbar was the only Afghan bowler to take a wicket.

Muhammad Fayyaz won “Player of the Tournament” for his all-round performance. Gohar Afridi was named “Player of the Match” for his explosive batting. In the prize ceremony, Pakistan’s captain Muhammad Zeeshan dedicated the win to the army and martyrs. He praised their sacrifices for national peace and safety.
Afghan captain Mansoor Adil thanked Pakistan for the hospitality and organization. He expressed joy over playing their first international series in Pakistan. He also hoped for better performance in the upcoming Asia Cup. Both teams shared mutual respect, strengthening ties and promoting wheelchair cricket in the region.
