Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar accused politicians of opposing the Gaza peace deal for political reasons. He spoke at a press conference in Islamabad. He asked critics whether they wanted innocent civilians to keep bleeding. Dar said the meeting with US President Donald Trump and eight Muslim leaders aimed to restore peace in Gaza.
He added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif supported clear goals for peace from the start. Therefore, Pakistan engaged other Muslim countries before attending the UN General Assembly. Dar said eight countries tried to find a way to stop the violence. He said their goal was to end the immediate fighting and save lives.

Moreover, Dar explained preparatory steps taken by foreign ministers before meeting Trump. They planned to push for an immediate ceasefire, faster humanitarian aid, and hostages’ release. They also discussed measures to stop forced displacement and return those already displaced. In addition, they aimed to begin rebuilding Gaza and protect West Bank contiguity.
Meanwhile, Dar warned against Israel’s settlement plans that threaten the two-state solution. He stressed stopping land grabs that could sever East Jerusalem from Palestinian areas. He urged the international community to uphold UN resolutions and prevent actions that undermine peace. He said Pakistan will actively support measures that protect Palestinian rights.
