Quetta attack foiled as six terrorists killed

Published on: September 30, 2025 2:58 PM

Security forces successfully foiled a vehicle-borne suicide attack in Quetta on Tuesday, killing six terrorists linked with the group “Fitna e Hindustan.” The attackers, disguised in Frontier Corps (FC) uniforms, attempted to target the city’s Zarghoon Road area but were neutralized before carrying out their plan. Two FC personnel sustained injuries during the fierce exchange of fire, highlighting the dangerous nature of the confrontation.

According to initial reports, a powerful explosion shook Zarghoon Road, shattering windows and doors of nearby buildings. Gunfire immediately followed the blast, spreading panic among residents. Police and rescue teams rushed to the area within minutes, while security forces cordoned off the affected zone to prevent further damage. Large plumes of smoke rising after the blast could be seen from a considerable distance, reflecting the intensity of the attempted attack.

Authorities confirmed that the attackers aimed to destabilize the region by carrying out a massive suicide strike. However, their plans were thwarted through the swift and coordinated response of the security forces. Officials stated that such plots were part of extremist designs backed by India’s agenda, vowing that every attempt to harm the country’s peace would be foiled. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact nature of the explosives used in the blast.

Meanwhile, the provincial health department responded immediately, with Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar declaring an emergency in all hospitals across Quetta. Doctors, pharmacists, consultants, and paramedical staff were directed to report for urgent duty to ensure preparedness for any medical emergency. The government’s proactive measures ensured that healthcare facilities were on high alert and ready to handle any potential casualties.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the terrorist attack, praising the bravery of security personnel who confronted the attackers. He stressed that cowardly acts of terrorism could never shake the nation’s resolve and reiterated the government’s commitment to making Balochistan peaceful and secure. Bugti added that the sacrifices of security forces and citizens would not go in vain and that terrorists would continue to face a crushing defeat.

The foiled suicide attack once again highlights the resilience of Pakistan’s security forces in countering extremist threats. Authorities emphasized that such incidents would not deter the country’s progress and unity, reaffirming that every attempt to spread fear and chaos would be met with a strong response.
