KARACHI: A man was shot dead by street criminals in Orangi Town on Sunday, while police arrested an injured robber in a separate encounter in Quaidabad.
The deceased was identified as Sajjad, a resident of Faisalabad who had recently come to Karachi. A video of the incident, now viral on social media, shows Sajjad speaking to two robbers on a motorcycle. The suspects snatched his valuables and opened fire when he resisted. His children witnessed the tragic scene. The robbers fled soon after. Police later shifted the body for medico-legal formalities and launched an investigation.
In another incident, Quaidabad police claimed to have injured and arrested a robber during an exchange of fire. Weapons, a mobile phone, and other valuables were recovered from his possession. The suspect was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
