
NEW YORK — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif concluded his week-long visit to the United States, where he attended the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly and met US President Donald Trump in a closed-door meeting at the Oval Office.
According to a statement issued from Pakistan, the talks covered regional security, counter-terrorism cooperation, and avenues for strengthening bilateral relations. The prime minister later described the interaction with President Trump as “very encouraging.”
Speaking to media in New Jersey, Mr. Sharif revealed that Washington had expressed readiness to share advanced techniques with Pakistan in artificial intelligence, information technology, and agriculture. He further noted that the United States was also open to exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan.
The prime minister, accompanied by the foreign minister and senior officials, departed the US on Saturday for London. At the airport, he was seen off by ambassadors of the United Nations and the United States.
