A Lahore sessions court sentenced a young man to life imprisonment for killing four family members under the alleged influence of PUBG. The victimized family included his mother, two sisters, and a brother. The incident occurred in 2022 when the accused was just 14 years old.

The court awarded 25 years on each of the four counts and imposed a fine of Rs4 million. Judge Riaz Ahmad announced the verdict and handed over the convict to Kot Lakhpat jail authorities. The sentences will run concurrently.
Police said Ali Zain, the accused, had opened fire at 2am, killing his mother Naheed Mubark, a lady health worker, and siblings Taimoor Sultan (20), Mahnoor Fatima (15), and Jannat (10). Evidence included the confession of the convict and police records.
The investigation revealed that Zain was addicted to the popular online game PUBG and allegedly committed the murders under its influence. Authorities highlighted the risks of extreme gaming addiction among youth and the potential impact on mental health.
