Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday praised US President Donald Trump for playing a significant role in the ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
Speaking to the media in New York, he described Trump as a strong advocate for peace and stability across the globe.
“President Donald Trump is a man of peace. He, along with his team, played a key role in bringing about the ceasefire between Pakistan and India,” said PM Sharif.
Meetings with world leaders
The PM and Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria, Christian Stocker on Tuesday expressed their desire to further enhance bilateral cooperation in diverse sectors.
PM Shehbaz Sharif met Christian Stocker on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
During the cordial meeting, the prime minister expressed Pakistan’s desire to further enhance its bilateral cooperation with Austria across all areas of mutual interest.
Both sides agreed to exchange delegations to enhance cooperation in the field of tourism between the two countries.
Moreover, he held a bilateral meeting with Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah on the sidelines of UN General Assembly session.
Expressing satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, the Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s keen desire to strengthen these ties further, particularly in trade, investment, agriculture, livestock, manpower export and health.
The PM will represent Pakistan at the 80th Session of the UNGA. In his address to the General Assembly, he will highlight Pakistan’s position on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and the question of Palestine, as well as present Pakistan’s perspective on key global issues.
