The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China has sent a significant relief package to support Pakistan as devastating floods continue to displace millions and destroy homes across the country. Acting as a trusted ally during this crisis, China’s prompt assistance highlights the strong partnership between the two nations. The relief effort aims to provide immediate aid to families who have lost their homes and livelihoods in the worst-affected areas.
The emergency package includes 12,000 specialised tents and 100 diesel generators to provide shelter and power in flood-hit regions. Additionally, 50 water purification pumps and 300 solar power systems have been delivered to ensure access to clean drinking water and electricity for displaced families. Medical camps set up by the PLA are distributing free medicines and offering treatment to flood victims suffering from waterborne and infectious diseases.

Authorities confirmed that these critical supplies are being rapidly transported and distributed across Punjab, Sindh, and other heavily affected regions. Local officials praised the coordinated effort, stating that China’s timely assistance is helping save lives and stabilise vulnerable communities. Relief teams on the ground are working tirelessly to deliver the materials to remote villages and flooded towns where access remains difficult.
The National Disaster Management Authority reported that at least 1,006 people have been killed since June 26, while over 2.5 million residents have been evacuated to safer locations. In Lahore and other urban centres, homes and small businesses were gutted by the rising waters, leaving families without shelter or income. The scale of destruction has placed enormous pressure on Pakistan’s emergency response capacity.
China’s humanitarian support reinforces its long-standing commitment to Pakistan during natural disasters and emergencies. Officials hope that the relief package will not only address urgent needs but also inspire other international partners to step forward. As the floodwaters continue to recede slowly, rebuilding efforts will require sustained global assistance to help affected communities recover and rebuild their lives.
