Illegal Afghans, Indian officers involved in terror plots: DG ISPR

Published on: September 19, 2025 6:20 PM

Pakistan’s military spokesman, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said Indian officers and illegal Afghan residents are involved in terrorism inside Pakistan. In a talk with German media, he said many illegal Afghans commit serious crimes. He added Pakistan has hosted Afghan refugees for 40 years but now wants them to return home. The government has extended the deadline for their return several times. He said the reasons for Afghan refugees fleeing no longer exist.

Lt Gen Chaudhry also accused India of supporting terrorism in Pakistan. He said Indian army officers are involved in terrorist acts in the country. Pakistan has shared proof of this with the world many times. He blamed India’s extremist government policies for violent incidents in the region. He said India often hides its problems by blaming other countries.

The army chief also condemned all groups that carry out attacks inside Pakistan. He said the state rejects all armed groups, and only the government can declare jihad. No other group or person has that right. He warned that no armed group should exist outside the state’s control. He called for unity to fight terrorism together.

He praised Pakistan’s role as a frontline state in the war on terror. Pakistan has made big sacrifices to fight terrorism. He also said American weapons left in Afghanistan are now used by terrorists. The U.S. has expressed concerns about its weapons being misused. Lt Gen Chaudhry highlighted the dangers these weapons pose to regional security.

Finally, he urged the world to help resolve the Kashmir issue. He said Indian state institutions follow extremist politics. He also said India hides its internal problems by blaming others. He noted Pakistan’s strong ties with China. He praised former U.S. President Trump’s leadership during recent Pakistan-India tensions. He ended by saying Pakistan wants peace but will protect its borders firmly.
