Cardi B shares why she announced pregnancy with Stefon Diggs on her ‘own time’

Published on: September 18, 2025 11:13 PM

Cardi B is doing things her own way. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper announced she’s pregnant with baby No. 4, her first with boyfriend Stefon Diggs and revealed that she waited to share the news until she felt ready.

“I just was like, ‘Can I just say it on my own time?’ Like, I’m not hiding,” Cardi told Gayle King on CBS Mornings Sept. 17. “On my time, on my own terms. Let me close some deals first, you know what I’m saying? Let me close some deals first.”

The 31-year-old-who shares Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 12 months, with ex Offset-went on to say that she wanted to make sure she was far enough along before sharing her exciting news with the world.

“And it’s like, you don’t really want to say right away that you’re pregnant,” she explained. “It’s like, ‘Let me see a couple of more sonograms. Let my baby be healthy.'”

And, while she was ready to share the news with the public, Cardi actually hadn’t yet told her parents that she was pregnant again before sitting down with Gayle.

“They just be looking at me,” she said. “I’m very scared of my parents.”

Even though getting pregnant amid the rollout of her new album Am I The Drama?, out Sept. 19, has been “very hard,” Cardi and Stefon feel ready for this next chapter together.

“I’m happy, I feel like I’m in a good space,” she shared. “Me and my man are very supportive of each other. We like in the same space in our careers. I feel like we’re really great, we’re really the best at what we do.”

“He just makes me feel safe and very confident,” she added. “And it makes you feel like you could take over the world.”

Cardi went on to joke that it’s even more important now for her fans to show up for her when she drops her new music.

“Now y’all could buy my album so I can buy Pampers and diapers and all that type of stuff,” she said. “I told you. Now go support my album, ’cause I’m a mother of four now.”
