Vehicles and motorcycles of those who repeatedly violate traffic rules in Lahore will be auctioned. The auction of motorcycles will be conducted after obtaining permission from the Punjab government.
Chief Traffic Officer of Lahore, Dr Athar Waheed, says that 129 bikes with fines exceeding the value of the bike were seized. After getting permission, the bikes will be auctioned. The 129 motorcycle owners owe a minimum of Rs 100,000 and a maximum of Rs 374,000 in fines.
The official states that the process for auctioning motorcycles will begin by writing a letter to Safe Cities. If a citizen has any objections or reservations regarding the e-challans they received, they may contact the traffic police.
Moreover, according to sources, the entire system is being shifted from manual challaning to e-challaning soon. After the upgrade of the Warden App, the collections have increased 10 times. The owners of the motorcycles seized for the auction have been informed by phone calls.
